Rubik's Cube Notations 2



In this article, we will learn about advanced Rubik's cube Notations. If you want to learn basic notations then you can read this article. This article is divided into three parts Middle Layers, Cube Rotations, Wide Moves.

  1. Mid Layers:  There are three types of middle layer rotations E, M and S
  • E for Equitorial layer
  • M for Middle layer
  • S for Standing layer


2. Cube Rotations: These are used to rotate the entire cube altogether.
  • X: Rotate the entire cube on R

  • Y: Rotate the entire cube on U

  • Z: Rotate the entire cube on F

3. Wide Moves: Turning two layers of a Rubik's cube at once. Wide move notations are either written in lowercase letters (for example u, l, r, d, f, b) or They are written with a 'w/W' next to them (for example Uw, Lw, Rw, Dw, Fw, Bw).
